Recently, a lot of cases on house break-in being circulated among friends. It’s like a common topic nowadays. A few months back, people are very anxious whenever they touch on this. Until recently, when they touch on this topic again, is like “nobody business”. I always ask if they get any security measure for their house. Most of the time, their respond is like – 1. Alarm is a hassle 2. I have live like this for the past 30 years and I don’t see the point of getting one 3. Mr.XXX house installed an alarm system yet still can’t stop break in 4. My unit is a rent unit, is not my own property.
My answer to the above brilliant statement 1. Alarm is a hassle when engaged wrong person doing wrong job 2. Life change, people change, environment change, things that you don’t need in the past does not necessary mean you won’t need it in future 3. Yes, you have installed an alarm system but have you regularly check on the alarm system? Have you ever engage an authorized installer to perform maintenance service for your system. If you do service your vehicle, I don’t see a point why you shouldn’t service your alarm system especially you used it every day 4. Again, your unit is a rent unit, but the belonging inside the rent unit is your assets. When your own belongs get stolen at the rent unit, who suffer. The tenant OR the owner…why not decide to protect your own belongs when you still can rather than saying: “ I should have …bla bla bla”…Again, prevention is always better than sorry.
