KOTA KINABALU: Burglars who broke into a semi-detached house in Penampang on Wednesday night missed RM300,000 worth of cash and valuables that the owner had hid in the house.
They damaged the alarm system before forcing open three doors in the kitchen to gain entry.
Though the burglars ransacked the whole house and forced open the master room door in search for valuables, they missed the money and valuables.

The house owner and his family were out when the incident happened.
However, they only left with petty cash in the end.
What they did not find was RM300,000 worth of cash, gold jewellery, Rolex watches and Taiwanese, Australian and American foreign currencies hidden in the house.
The owner, known as Lim only, was shocked to see the messy state of his house upon his return yesterday morning, but was relieved that his valuables were still intact.
He believed that it was a blessing as he often donated to charities.
